About A.W. Thompson

I am a Professor of Photography at Grand Valley State University in western Michigan. I earned a B.S. in Physics from the University of Dallas and an M.F.A. in Photography from Washington University in Saint Louis.

A native of Colorado, I have also lived and worked in Rome, Italy as a freelance photographer, and worked as a commercial advertising photographer in several midwest studios. My photographs and artwork have been included in the Midwest Photographer's Project Collection at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and have been exhibited and published throughout the United States and internationally.
